Please join us for a special open garden event as part of the Scotland’s Gardens.

The Walled Garden at Hospitalfield will be open between 2 and 4pm with a Gardener’s Question Time style event at 3pm.

The garden is blooming and showing the fruits of a very considerable commitment from our volunteer Garden Club. It is their work, over the last two years, which has made it possible for us to proudly invite visitors to the garden. Since April we have been participating in Scotland’s Gardens scheme by opening the gardens every Saturday afternoon.

Gardeners for the Question Time:

Moira Coleman, Hospitalfield Garden Club and Garden Designer.

Moira Coleman has been gardening for 25 years making gardens in France, England and Scotland. She is particularly keen on walled gardens which is what drew her to Hospitalfield.

Jeanette Ogilvie, owner of Pitmuies House and Garden

Pitmuies is known for its long borders of herbaceous perennials, superb delphiniums and old fashioned roses.

Frank Youil, horticultural adviser

Frank is a craftsman gardener, offering gardening advice and garden design in North East Scotland. He has been an avid practical contributor and lecturer for the UK horticulture industry for 37 years

Kevin Whyte, Hospitalfield groundsman

In 2014 Kevin won the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society award for merit for 25 years service in horticulture and has worked in the past at Glenbervie House by Stonehaven, Dunninald near Montrose and Brechin Castle.

Entrance to the gardens is £3.50.

No need to book – just come along.

Our cafe will be open with tea, coffee and delicious cakes.
