In the Angus Growers and Angus Soft Fruits Tent, Ethical & Sustainability Manager for Angus Soft Fruits Catherine Russell leads a talk on the role that farms can play in the sustainability of land and farming. Topics will include:

Wild Flowers and Grasses – Introduction of wild flowers and grasses for weed control and natural pollinators

LEAF Mark Certified – Find out how we are farming more sustainably

Recyclable packaging and recycled packaging – Find our plans for reducing plastic waste.

Catherine Russell is the Ethical and Sustainability Manager at Angus Soft Fruits. Her key areas of focus are reducing carbon emissions, managing food waste, responsible packaging, and having a positive impact on biodiversity. Before starting at Angus Soft Fruits, Catherine completed the MDS Graduate Scheme and did four six-month placements at different companies in the fresh produce industry. Catherine now has a PhD in food science, which was completed at Heriot-Watt University.
