Foraging walk and workshop for children & their grown ups with Sneha Solanki. EATING | THINGS is an ongoing family project which documents the journey of two infants, as they start to learn and eat edible flora and fungi. Growing in knowledge and age, the children follow a parent, and later an older sibling to look for edible things on verges, bushes, trees, the ground, along the shore, in woods and amongst human dwelling. Exploring the wild, managed and the in-between habitats at Hospitalfield, this workshop looks at weeds, berries, mushrooms, plants and trees which can be used as remedies, vitamins, medication or cures. Join Sneha and Rasa to seek out plants and fungi, which can help us to super-charge our vitamin C intake, soothe nettle stings or provide antibacterial protection, all whilst developing new knowledge and enabling our own resilience.
Tickets for this workshop are included in the entry cost for Beer & Berries. Tickets available for £6 per person, (children under 12 go free) and offer full access the stallholders area, Live Music, the talks & workshops programme (book in advance) and as well entry to the Walled Gardens and Fernery.
