BEER & BERRIES EVENT
Beer & Berries at Hospitalfield is one of the highlights of our 2017 Summer Festival. This free event will be hosted in the courtyard of Hospitalfield House on Saturday 8 July, between 12 and 5pm, and is an opportunity for visitors to meet a selection of producers and suppliers of the best beer and berries in Scotland found here in Angus and Tayside. Visitors will be able to purchase and sample some delicious local produce.
Beer & Berries has been planned to coincide with our Open Garden Day organised with Scotland’s Gardens scheme – enter into the special Walled Gardens at Hospitalfield, between 2 and 5pm, and meet the garden staff and volunteers. A donation of £4 per adult is requested for entry into the Walled Gardens.
Beer & Berries is a great opportunity to celebrate the fantastically rich food and drink culture we are so fortunate to have across Angus and Tayside.
We are delighted that Adam Newth, chef proprietor of Tayberry Restaurant and local food hero will be present to open the event and to judge the best homemade jam!
We hope that you will be able to come along and enjoy beer, berries and beautiful gardens at Hospitalfield. There’s lots to do within the events schedule below, no need to book, just come along.
BEER & BERRIES MARKET STALLHOLDERS
THROUGHOUT THE DAY
12 – 5pm: Beer & Berries Event, come into our Courtyard to visit stalls from local producers, hear about their exceptional produce and buy direct. Access to the Courtyard market area is free.
12 – 5pm: Hospitalfield Café, open for excellent lunches, delicious BBQ and sumptuous cakes.
12 – 12.30pm: Grand opening of Beer & Berries event by Adam Newth from Tayberry Restaurant.
1 – 1.30pm: The Jam Competition is judged by Adam Newth and then winner will be announced! If you are interested in participating in the competition, please email email@example.com and bring us a pot of your jam by Friday 7 July.
2 – 5pm: Our Walled Gardens will be open as part of Scotland’s Gardens scheme. £4 per person (children free entry).
2 – 3pm: Heritage Tour of Hospitalfield House. A chance to see inside the house and hear about its history, as well as see Simon Bedwell’s exhibition, SOCIETY.
3 – 4pm: Hospitalfield Gardener’s Question Time, come to share your gardening quandaries with our expert panel.
4 – 5pm: Garden Tour by Moira Coleman of Hospitalfield’s Garden Club.
4 – 5pm: Heritage Tour of Hospitalfield House. A chance to see inside the house and hear about its history, as well as see Simon Bedwell’s exhibition, SOCIETY.
Hospitalfield is part of VisitScotland’s food and drink Quality Assurance scheme, Taste Our Best, which recognises and celebrates businesses providing locally sourced quality food and drink.
You are invited to create your best jam ever and enter it into the competition which will be judged by Adam Newth, chef proprietor of Tayberry Restaurant.
Deliver your jam to Hospitalfield House by Friday 7 July to be in for a chance of winning on the day.
