Working at Hospitalfield Now, 28 June – 26 July 2017

For an intensive month over the summer this group of artists will have the support of the residency to develop their projects.

The Summer Residents include eight selected through our open call to UK and UK based visual artists and three international artists, selected through partnerships.

Following a study trip to India in late 2016 Hospitalfield was able to arrange a residency with Clark House Initiative in Mumbai to bring associated artist Ranjeeta Kumari for a month’s residency this summer, supported by British Council. We are delighted to be working with the Mondriaan Fonds for the first time to create a new residency which spans four months over the summer and autumn. This will create a significant opportunity for a Netherlands based artist to develop their work but also to integrate into a series of different residencies which will happen at Hospitalfield over that time, including two visual art residencies, an Interdisciplinary Residency and our Graduate Residency in October. All these artists will start their time at Hospitalfield by attending the FIELDWORK International Summer School, this year entitled Shoulder-to-Shoulder and programmed with Cicely Farrer and Gordon Douglas. It takes place between 28 – 30 June and you can book tickets here…
