Working at Hospitalfield Now, 21 August – 3 September 2017

An Interdisciplinary Residency group including writers, filmmakers and artists are joined by THIStudios resident Sophie Mallett and artist Isabel Cordeiro who was selected with Mondriaan Foundation.

For these two weeks in late summer a group of international cultural practitioners who work within installation, cinema, gallery, academia and publishing will come together for an intensive period of thinking, planning and making at Hospitalfield. Each person brings an urgent project which they want to make headway with and will benefit from the collegiate environment here to progress their ideas.

In the second year of our exchange programme with Tottenham Hale International Studios, Sophie Mallett will be here on residency in August and then help in hosting Dundee-based artist Amy Jones while she undertakes a residency in London in October.

Isabel Cordeiro is living at Hospitalfield for four months in a project supported by Mondriaan Foundation in Holland. She will be part of this group as well as overlapping with several of our other residencies during her time here. Trans Atlantic Artists Residency Exchange selected Jamaican artist Camille Chedda will finish her two months residency here on 25 August.

These individual were selected through an international open call in November 2016 and come to the August Interdisciplinary Residency from a variety of backgrounds and countries:
