August sees the second BellRock 2018 screenwriters residency including a Masterclass by director Gyula Gazdag.
The six filmmakers and writers who were selected to participate in the BellRock 2018 programme will be working at Hospitalfield from 1 – 5 August. The workshop starts with an intensive Masterclass by Gyula Gazdag, an internationally recognised director who has been Artistic Director of Sundance Directors Lab and on the faculty of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in Los Angeles.
The BellRock programme, led by Olivia Stewart of Three Rivers Film, supports the participants to develop fully formed feature length screenplays through workshops, discussion and one to one mentoring. The programme ran for the first time last year and follows a format of three residential stays at Hospitalfield over the summer and autumn. BellRock is supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland’s Screen Fund.
Lucy Cash, Zoё Hunter, Sean Lìonadh, Thomas McCrudden, Iain Mitchell and James Topham are working with Olivia Stewart and fellow industry mentors, Alfredo Covelli and Ian Sellar to develop their projects over the next four months.
