11 October 2018
Stephen Feeke is Director of New Art Centre, Roche Court in Wiltshire, where he curates a programme of modern and contemporary art for the gallery and the sixty-acre sculpture park. In this talk for the Friends of Hospitalfield, Stephen will expand on the work in his current role at Roche Court.
Roche Court is a late Victorian house set within the fields of Wiltshire and is run as an arts organisation with a very wide reach from its rural base. In recent years wonderful architectural additions have been made to the site to show work and to welcome and accommodate artists. Stephen will talk about his experience of developing the programme and working within this context.
Previously Curator of Exhibitions at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds where he was involved in all aspects of exhibition making and project management, Feeke has also curated exhibitions elsewhere, most recently Caro at Chatsworth and Laura Ford at Strawberry Hill. In 2017 he was involved in a major project to conserve Anthony Caro’s ‘Sea Music’ on Poole Quay. Stephen contributes regularly to The Museums Journal amongst many other publications.
This talk is free for members of Friends of Hospitalfields, and £5 for non-members. To confirm your attendance, please book here.
