24 March 2018
Hospitalfield launched the first Friends of Hospitalfield Print commission with Amy Jones at the end of 2017, and we are happy to start the Friends’ Programme for 2018 with a visit to meet the artist at her studio in Dundee.
As well as developing her work as an artist Amy also curates projects and is a Co-Founder of Dundee Print Collective. She studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (2010) and is interested in collaborative practices as a way of making, often creating opportunities to explore ideas in dialogue with others.
In 2017 Amy was selected for a residency programme in London at THIStudios, an opportunity established by Hospitalfield as part of our DD Programme. The DD Programme employs our networks nationally and internationally to develop opportunities for artists to work in new settings where they can develop their work and their networks.
Kirstie Skinner, Director of Outset Scotland will accompany Friends of Hospitalfield during the Studio Visit. With its fresh approach to philanthropy, Outset Scotland’s community of supporters provide the funds to respond to what artists and curators really need – championing artistic ambition, enriching public collections, and expanding audiences across Scotland and beyond.
We will be meeting at the entrance to WASPS Studios, Meadow Mill/West Henderson’s Wynd, Dundee DD1 5BY on Saturday at 11am
