The original gatehouse at the foot of Cairniehill, the home and studio of artist Ann Patrick, was dramatically extended in the 60s and 70s to provide purpose built artist’s studio, enclosed terrace and accommodation for the family. Constructed largely from materials reclaimed from sites in Arbroath, it incorporates many unusual features designed and built by Ann’s late husband, Richard Hunter.
An eclectic collection of decorative art, sculpture, paintings and prints adorns the walls and there will be an opportunity to visit Ann’s studio.
Friends of Hospitalfield enjoy a programme of talks, visits and events as part of their close connection to the organisation.
Meet at Hospitalfield, 10.30am, before travelling together to Cairniehill
