Free Drawing School Online with Ruth Beale & Amy Feneck

Saturday 27 February, 3pm-5pm

We invite you to join guest artists Ruth Beale & Amy Feneck on Saturday 27 February at 3pm for an online Free Drawing School workshop thinking about the essential work of care in this time of the pandemic – using collage and drawing to ask ‘who or what do you care for?’ It could be a possession, a person or even an idea.

The Free Drawing School Online is a free series of online events specially designed by artists, inviting you to get involved at home guided live with artists.

Ruth Beale & Amy Feneck have been collaborating as The Alternative School of Economics since 2012. As an ‘alternative school’, they link artists’ practice with self education as a way to study economics and economies.

Ruth and Amy will be sharing instructions on Saturday 27 February at 3pm on our website and Facebook event, then will be live via Zoom to introduce you to the challenge. Ruth and Amy invite you to make work on Saturday afternoon and then gather together at 5pm to share what you have made.

To sign up please register via Eventbrite and join our Facebook event.

Beale & Feneck are interested in reciprocal modes of learning and making. They use diverse and creative methodologies, and collaborate with experts from a variety of disciplines, from sociologists to writers, to produce film, graphics, photography, texts and clothing, as forms of activation, dissemination and reflection. Recent projects include Rabbits Road Institute Library, currently on virtual tour to Barking & Dagenham, The End of the Present, residency with Arts Catalyst, and True Currency: About Feminist Economics, a podcast series produced as part of a residency at Gasworks, London, and a tour of Rabbits Road Institute Library, a community collection of books to be based in Barking, London. Visit their website to find out more.
