A Garden Elixir
Join perfumer Clara Weale for a scented walk through the Hospitalfield grounds. Drawing upon the herbs, rituals and remedies that might have existed there as part of the garden’s monastic past, you are invited to experience the changing season through a series of scents created specially for the event. With work about to begin transforming the gardens and bringing the Victorian Fernery back to life, join us to contemplate the past, present and future of the gardens through this transportive sense.
Following the walk you will be invited to blend your own combination of scents, inspired by the Hospitalfield garden, to take home with you in a vial – your own Garden Elixir.
Free but spaces are limited, please book your ticket here.
Clara Weale is an independent perfumer, based in Glasgow, Scotland. By isolating and emphasising olfactory information present within an environment she seeks to use abstract molecules to evoke and convey meaning. Alongside her work creating personal and environmental scent, Clara is Director of A Library of Olfactive Material – an open access resource for scent education, experimentation and experience.
