Interdisciplinary Residents for 2017.
Hospitalfield is pleased to announce the exceptional residents selected for our Interdisciplinary Programme. Thirty six practitioners and theorists from the UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Israel, Australia, Sweden and Italy will come together across three two-week residencies to develop their individual projects and engage in discussion. This year Hospitalfield worked with Janine Matheson from Creative Edinburgh, Jude Barber from Collective Architecture and Nuno Sacramento from Peacock Visual Arts to review all the applications and build the three groups. Several Printmaking Places which have been allocated with advice from Annis Fitzhugh, DCA Print Studio.
Isabel Cordeiro Selected in Partnership with Mondriaan Fund.
Hospitalfield will welcome Isabel Cordeiro for a four month residency in 2017. This new initiative, which was selected through an open call to visual artists in the Netherlands, is the first long term residency which Hospitalfield has developed in recent years.
Camille Chedda selected for British Council residency at Hospitalfield.
The Jamaican visual artist is part of the wider Trans Atlantic Artists’ Residency Exchange (TAARE). Congratulations to the others selected in the scheme including Dundee artist Joanna Helfer who will do a residency in Jamaica.
Scottish Graduate School of Arts & Humanities Researcher in Residence.
Théophile Krosi-Doute, a PhD researcher from University of Aberdeen, will develop a new choral composition using astronomical mathematics during a two week residency in March.
Visual Art Residencies 2017 – selection process underway.
Thanks to all the artists who made an application to our Summer and Autumn Residencies. The selection process is underway and applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of February.
New Contemporaries Alumni Residency Place at Hospitalfield.
We are delighted to be working with New Contemporaries to offer a place on our Autumn Residency to an artist who has exhibited in their annual touring exhibition over the last 5 years. New Contemporaries is the leading UK organisation supporting emergent art practice from UK Art Schools. Since 1949 they have consistently provided a critical platform for new and recent fine art graduates.

Call out to artists, curators and organisers within Scotland to work with Hospitalfield to programme FIELDWORK 2017 our International Summer School. Deadline this Monday, 20 February.
DD Artists Residency at THIStudios, London – call for applications.
In a partnership with Tottenham Hale International Studios in north London, for the second year, Hospitalfield is launching an open call for applications from artists living and working in the DD postcode area for a residency at THIStudios in 2017. Deadline 20 March.
Graduate Residency 2017 – call for applications.
Open to application from 2017 and 2016 graduates from undergraduate and postgraduate art courses in Scotland. Deadline 3 July.
