Call for applications to Programme Traineeship positions

Deadline 6 June, noon.

Hospitalfield wish to appoint two art-specialist trainees to take up two separate two-month, full time placements. The first between mid-June and mid–August. The second between mid-August and mid-October 2018.

This is an interesting and busy time for the programme at Hospitalfield with the Summer Festival, Summer and Autumn commissions and the core of the residency programme.  We are also absorbed by the capital development and other future planning.

These Trainee opportunities are for those who have an interest in developing their skills as an artist, organiser, programmer or curator. You will gain a closer understanding of working within a dynamic arts organisation working internationally and locally within a fascinating and fast evolving rural base.

The focus of the placement will be on programming, administration and delivery. You will work with artists, support the residency programme. You will gain an insight in to the way we engage audiences now and our planning for the future through our approach to marketing, interpretation and programme development.

Applicants should have a qualification to degree level in art or design. This opportunity will suit someone with some experience beyond art school yet at an early stage in their career. The Traineeship is devised for those who can stay at Hospitalfield throughout the two months. We provide a bursary, accommodation and the majority of meals.
